Staycation: a period in which an individual or family stays home and participates in leisure activities within driving distance of their home and does not require overnight accommodation.
Pretty much the situation as it has been for the last several months to be fair – only this time without work (even though for me that ‘work’ comprises of getting in front of the camera a few times a week to teach yoga.
Today Google kindly showed me photos of ‘this day a year ago – 2 years ago – 3 years ago and 6 years ago. On every one of those I was on holiday with my son(s) – Menorca, Majorca, Ibiza and North Devon respectively. So inspired by that I went for another walk from my doorstep around the local area. Ice cream in hand as we left the house, a six mile stroll along an old railway route, via Delaval Hall and through Seaton Sluice to return throuh Holywell Dene.
I am so lucky to live in this beautiful area – and that the threatened thunder storms have (so far) given us a wide berth.
